Van Drew Secures $7.2 Million for Major Millville Project

September 28, 2026 — Congressman Van Drew announced that he secured $7.2 million in federal funding to extend Nabb Avenue in Millville to create the road connection needed to support major new development around the Millville Airport. The federal investment is expected to unlock more than $350 million in private investment and create over 1,000 full-time jobs in South Jersey.

“This project has the potential to completely transform this part of Millville,” said Congressman Van Drew. “For years, this area has had enormous potential, but the road access was simply not there to support the kind of development we know is possible. With this funding, we will extend Nabb Avenue from Route 49 to Fairton-Millville Road, giving trucks and businesses a much better way to get in and out of the area without sending all of that traffic through the middle of the city. Once that connection is in place, it opens up the area around the airport for more than $350 million in private investment and over 1,000 good-paying jobs right here in South Jersey. This is huge for Millville and for all of Cumberland County, and I am incredibly proud that we were able to bring this funding home.”

Congressman Van Drew and his team stepped in, made it a priority, and did the work needed to move it forward,” said Millville Mayor Dan Dixon. “I want to give him the credit he deserves. His leadership has given Millville a real opportunity to make the Nabb Avenue Extension happen. Nabb Avenue is essential to Millville’s economic future. We have businesses ready to grow and opportunities ahead of us, but we need the infrastructure to match. This project would make our industrial park more accessible while keeping heavy truck traffic away from the heart of our city.
