Van Drew Statement on Operation Epic Fury and the ELIMINATION of the Ayatollah and Senior Officials in Iran

February 28, 2026 — United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew released the following statement on President Trump’s decision to launch Operation Epic Fury in Iran and reports that Ayatollah Khamenei is among the senior Iranian officials who have been taken out by US and Israeli air power. 

“We must rise above the petty politics of the moment and recognize that what we are witnessing unfold before our eyes is the timeless dream and vision of Peace in the Middle East finally coming into focus,” said United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew. “This morning, as bombs began falling on Tehran, the Iranian Regime issued a ‘final call’ for the Arab and Muslim worlds to come to their aid, but instead, as the dust settles this evening you’re seeing Americans, Israelis, Saudis, and other Gulf Nations standing shoulder to shoulder united as never before watching the death blows of the world’s largest state sponsor of terror and the last barrier to peace in our time.” 

According to US Central Command, “Following the initial wave of U.S. and partner strikes, CENTCOM forces successfully defended against hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks. There have been no reports of U.S. casualties or combat-related injuries. Damage to U.S. installations was minimal and has not impacted operations.”
