Van Drew Votes Yes to the SAVE America Act to Safeguard Our Elections

February 11, 2026 — Congressman Van Drew voted in favor of the SAVE America Act, which would require individuals to show proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.

“Only Americans should vote in American elections,” said Congressman Van Drew. “There should be nothing controversial about that. Americans have to show ID every day just to live out their lives. They verify who they are to fly on a plane, to open a bank account, to buy alcohol, to carry out ordinary responsibilities. The integrity of our elections should carry that same level of seriousness. The American people want elections they can trust. Our job is to listen to them and uphold the integrity of the democratic process. That is why I voted yes on the SAVE America Act.”
