Van Drew Statement on the Outcome of New Jersey’s 2025 Gubernatorial Election
November 5, 2025 — United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew released the following statement on the outcome of last night’s New Jersey Gubernatorial Election.
“I am so proud to represent New Jersey’s Second Congressional District which went solidly for Jack Ciattarelli last night,” said United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R – South Jersey). “We did our job, but unfortunately voters in the rest of the state decided to go in a different direction. I sincerely hope Governor-Elect Sherrill’s policies will be significantly different from our last Governor, Phil Murphy. We do not need to be spending New Jersey taxpayers money on Sanctuary State policies or continuing to have men competing in women’s sports or allowing School administrators to interfere with the relationship between parents and their children. Most of all, I hope she reduces our utility costs and makes New Jersey more affordable.”
“The people of my district know I will continue to stand strong and fight like Hell for South Jersey,” added Van Drew. ”With that said, I will nevertheless do my best to work with Governor-Elect Sherrill on the areas where we can, hopefully, find common ground and advance the interests of our mutual constituents.”
