Van Drew Statement on the Attempted Murder of Homeland Security Agents by a Radical Left Activist

September 24, 2025 — United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew released the following statement on the attempted murder of United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as well as Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents at a detention facility for illegal aliens in Dallas, Texas. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, bullet casings recovered from the scene contained “Anti-ICE” messaging.  

“We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, and again until it starts to sink in, what happened today was the INEVITABLE CONCLUSION of what happens when the media elites and reckless politicians liken our federal law enforcement agents to the “NAZI GESTAPO” (Adolf Hitler’s Secret Police Force) or refer to legitimate law enforcement operations as modern day “SLAVE PATROLS” or compare criminal detention centers to “NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMPS,” said United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R – South Jersey). “These abhorrent statements and the acts of political violence have followed are no longer isolated incidents and they are having a real effect. When Rutgers University conducts a survey and finds that more than half of those on the Left think it’s at least somewhat justified to murder those with whom you disagree politically you can see just how seriously wrong things have become, and, sadly, even after the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk, it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.”
