Van Drew Supports Holding Hunter Biden in Contempt of Congress

January 10, 2024 — Today, the House Judiciary Committee is holding a markup on the committee’s report recommending that the House of Representatives cite Hunter Biden for contempt of Congress.

“Democrats, in their desperate attempt for power, continue to rewrite the rules in an effort to reattain it. They are manipulating the courts to keep a political opponent off the presidential ballot. They disregard democracy by all but canceling their primary process in an effort to coronate President Biden,” said Congressman Van Drew.

“This pattern we are seeing paints a picture as clear as day: Democrats think they are better than everyone else. Americans see it; Americans see that Democrats believe in rules for thee but not for me,” added Congressman Van Drew. “There is no clearer example of this than Hunter Biden. He must be held accountable for defying a lawful subpoena and he needs to appear before this Congress for a deposition. If the Judiciary Committee does not vote unanimously today to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress, Democrats will once again show the world their blatant disregard for the rules of this country and the core values that bind us.”
