VAN DREW ISSUES STATEMENT ON BIDEN ADMINISTRATION APPEALING THE COURT DECISION TO END TRAVEL MASK MANDATES
April 20, 2022 —
Congressman Van Drew issued the following statement on the Biden Administration indicating it will be appealing the federal judge’s decision that concluded travel mask mandates are unconstitutional.
“The Biden Administration appealing this decision by a federal judge is yet another example of this administration continuing to govern by its own rules, rather than our country’s founding principles,” said Congressman Van Drew. “Our country depends on the government maintaining a separation of powers, and the will to overturn a court decision labeling President Biden’s mask mandates unconstitutional lends to the fact that this administration does not abide by the Constitution.”
”While our border crisis is out of control—over 7,000 illegal immigrant encounters each day in March—this administration is more concerned with enforcing un-scientific mask mandates on Americans than ensuring our country’s borders are protected,” added Congressman Van Drew. “People are entering our country with no checks on criminal backgrounds, no checks if they carry diseases, but are being flown across the country at the cost of the American taxpayer. This administration ended Title 42 because COVID-19 is ‘over’ and no longer a threat, which will lead to a surge in illegal immigration, yet believe that masks are still required for Americans to travel.”
“The American people do not want endless mandates. They do not want to live in an autocracy. The American people wants the federal government to protect and uphold their fundamental rights and freedoms, which this administration continually fails to do.”
